Unsson participated in three Olympic Games, and at the first of them, the 1908 Summer Olympics in London, he competed in rifle shooting at 300 meters and became the second among teams and the 15th among individual athletes. In shooting from an army rifle among the teams, he became the fifth.

At the next 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, Junsson again competed in 300 meter rifle shooting among the teams and won a gold medal. He also became 11th in a similar individual competition and 16th in shooting from an army rifle from three positions at 300 meters.

Eight years later, Unsson participated in his last 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp . He participated only in army rifle shooting competitions and took third place in lying shooting among teams at 600 meters, sixth in lying shooting among teams at 300 and 600 meters and seventeenth among individual athletes in shooting at 600 meters.
