Reserve referee (football)

The reserve referee may be appointed to the match in accordance with the rules of the competition to fulfill the duties of a judge or assistant referee if any of them is unable to continue to perform his duties. Before the start of the competition, its organizer must clearly determine the course of action in the event that any of the members of the judging panel is not able to continue to fulfill their duties.

Reserve Judge:

• helps the judge in the performance of any administrative duties before, during and after the match;
• helps to replace players during a match;
• checks the balls , which replace the worn out;
• checks the equipment of substitutes before they enter the field;
• if the equipment of substitutes does not meet the requirements of Rule 4 , notify the referee about this;
• at appropriate times, displays a digital electronic scoreboard, which displays the time added to the time or the numbers of players being replaced and coming out for replacement during substitutions;
• signals to the judge if he erroneously issued a warning to the wrong player, and also if he did not mistakenly remove from the field the player who received the second warning;
• signals to the judge about all cases of aggressive behavior that occurred out of sight of the judge or his assistants;
• informs the judge about the incorrect behavior of any person in the technical zone;
• if necessary, advises the referee on facts related to the game, which for one reason or another have eluded the attention of the referee and his assistants (including situations related to the determination of a goal );
• if necessary, replace the referee who can no longer hold the match;
• after the match, provides the relevant authorities with a report on the fact of any act or other incident that occurred outside the field of view of the judge and his assistants.
