World downfall

World Downfall is one of the most important historical and influential grindcore albums: it shows fast and highly distorted guitar riffs, the use of blast beats , and the use of an extreme variety of vocals known as growling .

The lyrics of the album are dedicated to social injustice. This, as well as the music, makes the album similar to Napalm Death 's Scum album. The cover contains an image of Islamic terrorists, a nuclear power plant , dead bodies and the second coming of Jesus Christ .

A third of the songs were the result of the previous group Nausea, which included vocalist Oscar Garcia . The album was released in 1989, before which the group released a split with the album.

Immediately after the release, members of the group Jesse Pintado , David Vincent and Pett Sandoval moved to the death metal bands Napalm Death and Morbid Angel , and the group split up until 2006.

The song “Fear of Napalm” was featured in the video game Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned .
