Biography

Born in the village of Chernikhovtsy (Ukrainian. Chernikhivtsi, now - Zbarazh district of Ternopil region ). He graduated from a German gymnasium in Lviv , subsequently entered the University of Vienna . In 1914 he left for the Russian Empire in order to study cooperation, and, in connection with the outbreak of the First World War and the terror against the Russian Galicians, he did not return. He returned to his homeland, which at that time became a Polish province, in 1921 , along with most other Galician emigrants in Russia, dissatisfied with the Soviet system. Upon his return, he took an active part in public work, continuing to firmly adhere to “all-Russian” views, was a secretary in the M. Kachkovsky society , participated in the political struggle as a supporter of the Russian Selyansk organization , and edited the newspaper Zemlya i Volya. In 1928, he went to the USA for a while, where he met with emigrants of Russophile orientation, and later returned to Poland [1] . Mikhail Tsebrinsky wrote a lot - journalism, historical reviews, popular essays for the people, both in Russian and Ukrainian (in the version used by the Galician Russophiles). He often signed his work "Chernikhovchenko" - a pseudonym formed from the name of his native village.

In 1938, he made a speech at a congress of supporters of the Russian movement in Syanok , Lemkovschina [2] , reliable information about his future fate has not yet been found.
