Smirnov Nikolay Vasilyevich (July 11, 1946, Kondratyevo settlement, Leningrad Region - September 25, 2002, St. Petersburg ) - Russian state and economic figure. Chairman of the Government of the Leningrad Region in 1994-1996.

Biography
Born on July 11, 1946 in the village of Kondratyevo, Vyborg District, Leningrad Region . In 1969 he graduated from the Leningrad Agricultural Institute with a degree in agricultural engineering. He worked as chief engineer , director of the Osminsky state farm (1969-1975), deputy general director of the Rodina association (1975-1978), secretary of the Slantsy city committee of the CPSU (1978-1986). From 1986 - Deputy General Director of the Gatchina Association, Deputy Head of the Fuel Industry Directorate of the Leningrad Executive Committee.
Married two daughters.
Since 1987 - Chairman of the Vyborg District Executive Committee of the Leningrad Region. In 1990 he headed the Vyborg City Council of People's Deputies. In 1991-1994 he was the head of the administration of the Vyborg district. In 1994 he was appointed Chairman of the Government of the Leningrad Region. One of the initiators of the publication in 1993 of a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on the construction of a large port in the city of Primorsk , actively sought to start implementing the order.
From March 1996 - Director of the Regional Directorate No. 9 “Roads of the North-West of Russia”, which in November 1999 was reformed into the Federal Highway Administration “North-West”, in the capacity of the head of which N. V. Smirnov died suddenly September 25, 2002 of the year.
In 1997 and 2001 he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region.
