Franz Xaver Pokorny or Conquer ( him. Franz Xaver Pokorny , czech. František Xaver Pokorný ; December 20, 1729 , , now the Czech Republic - July 2, 1794 , Regensburg ) - German violinist , composer of Czech origin.

Biography
He studied music in Regensburg with Joseph Ripel . In 1750 he entered the violinist in the court chapel of Count von Ettingen-Wallerstein . In 1753 - 1754 worked in Mannheim , where his teachers were Johann Stamitz , Franz Xaver Richter and Ignaz Holzbauer , then returned to the county chapel, where he was promised a choirmaster’s place, which he, however, did not receive. After 1766 , he worked mainly in Regensburg.
Under the name of Pokorny there are about 150 symphonies and about 60 concerts, mainly for clavier and orchestra, but also for solo winds; many of them belonged to Franz Xaver Pokorny for a long time has been disputed.
Both sons of Pokorny became musicians. The degree of kinship of the composer with other musicians of the same name - in particular, with the tour in France in 1779-1780. Horn Beatoy Pokorny - not known for sure.
