The design of the car and its characteristics

Prerestyling version

Production of SsangYong Kyron started in 2005, in 2007 the car was restyled, affecting the front and rear parts of the body, including lighting equipment, grille, fog lights, as well as the color scheme of the cabin. The crossover of the 2007 model year was delivered as New Kyron to many foreign markets, however, the name of the car was not changed on the Russian market. The supporting element of the structure is the frame .

Officially, cars with a 2.3-liter gasoline engine (150 hp) and a 2-liter turbodiesel (141 hp) were supplied to the Russian market, and cars with a 2.7-liter diesel engine were produced in Korea. After reystayling in models equipped with 2-liter turbodiesel engines, a complete set with a 6-speed automatic transmission appeared.

Features of all-wheel drive

The power unit SsangYong Kyron is located longitudinally in front. Four-wheel drive is implemented on the system Part Time, without center differential. In the front axle there is a simple free symmetrical differential, the rear differential is not blocked, but there is a complete set with automatic locking. In this case, when one of the rear wheels slips, the differential starts to block, which improves the properties of the car on the road. The driver can directly influence the distribution of thrust in the transmission. The control panel is located on the central panel. Position 2H means that the driving wheels are rear wheels. When the selector is moved to the 4H position, the front axle is connected, and when the 4L position is selected in the transfer case, the reduction gear is activated. At reduced transfer the maximum permissible speed is 60 km / h. Due to the lack of a center differential, the use of all-wheel drive on dry clean asphalt is not allowed.

Production in Russia

In 2006, the assembly of cars for the Russian market began at the plant of the Sollers company in Naberezhnye Chelny , and at the end of 2009 production was transferred to the enterprise Sollers-Dalny Vostok in Vladivostok [2] . Since 2015 it is not made.
