Nikolai Ivanovich Tarasov ( 1902 - 1975 ) - Soviet ballet dancer , soloist of the Bolshoi Theater , ballet teacher. Honored Artist of the RSFSR ( 1937 ). Laureate of the USSR State Prize ( 1975 - posthumously ).

Biography

In 1920, Nikolai Tarasov graduated from the Moscow Choreographic School , his teacher was Nikolai Gustavovich Legat . At the Bolshoi Theater he made his debut in the party of the Knee in the play " Vain Precaution ". From 1920 to 1935, Tarasov was the premier of the Bolshoi Theater, performed parts in the classical repertoire:

  • "Swan Lake" by P. I. Tchaikovsky - Siegfried
  • "Giselle" A. Adana - Albert
  • Don Quixote by L. F. Minkus - Basil
  • "Sleeping Beauty" by P. I. Tchaikovsky - Prince Desiree
  • Raymond A.K. Glazunov - Jean de Brienne
  • La Bayadere by L. F. Minkus - Solor
 Nikolai Tarasov was a dancer of a strict academic manner, possessing a soft, elastic jump. He was a great partner. - E.N. Nadezhdina [1] 
  • From 1923 to 1960, Nikolai Ivanovich taught at the MAHU .
  • From 1942 to 1945 - Director and Artistic Director
  • From 1953 to 1954 - the art director of the school.
  • In 1929 - 1930 he led the improvement class at the Bolshoi Theater, and from 1933 to 1937 - the artistic director of the pop choreographic technical school.
  • Since 1946, Tarasov became a teacher at the GITIS choreography department in the fundamental subject - Classical Dance Technique
  • Since 1958 - Artistic Director of the Department of Teachers - Choreographers of GITIS
  • Since 1962 - Professor

He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery .
