Description
The Solov River originates from the village of Sorochinka, Shchekino District of the Tula Region, just six kilometers to the west (beyond the watershed ) from the place where its other tributary flows into the Upa River - Upeta . Then Solov flows to the north-west to the mouth near the village Selivanovo. The river mouth is located 98 km on the left bank of the Upa River. The length of the river is 52 km, its catchment area is 634 km². At the village of Selivanovo the width of the river is 9 meters, the depth is 0.7 meters.
The riverbed meandering. The banks along the entire route are covered with thick grass, often the river flows in the corridor of solid reeds . There are stony rifts . Despite the fact that there are many settlements along the river, the river itself has no houses. The bottom is mostly muddy, the water is brownish. When rafting, in addition to low-water walkways and fallen trees, several stony thresholds can become an obstacle. For water tourism, the Solovy site is about 40 kilometers long from the village of Karamyshevo on the M2 “Moscow-Simferopol” highway to the mouth.
