Biography
The pupil of Omsk hockey. He began to play for the team of masters “Spartak” (Omsk) at the age of 16. He played in the club with Viktor Blinov . At 28, he began to play for the USSR national team [3] .
Honored Master of Sports (1974). In the championships of the USSR, he played 441 matches, scoring 32 goals [4] .
On December 4, 2007, under the arches of the Krylya Sovetov DS , the banner of Yuri Shatalov was raised [3] .
After the player’s career ended, he worked as a coach at the Avangard stadium (Moscow), worked at a bank, and was engaged in business. He regularly played for the USSR Legends of Hockey team. He was married twice, had two daughters. In recent years, he lived in Moscow [3] .
He played in veteran tournaments as part of the HC Legends of the USSR Hockey . [5] , was a member of the Board of the Night Hockey League and was the curator of the Siberia conference.
He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery .
