Biography

Serdyuk has been engaged in archery since the age of 13, a pupil of the Kommunar sports school in Kharkov ; the first coach of the athlete was Victor Sergeyevich Grushev.

In 1993 he graduated from the Kharkov State Higher School of Physical Education No. 1. Then he received the title of master of sports.

He made his debut in international tournaments in 1999 at the World Cup in France , where he took 36th place.

In 2003, Serdyuk became the champion of Ukraine, and also won the bronze medal in the team competition at the Universiade in Daegu .

2004 brought Alexander a bronze medal in the team competitions of the Athens Olympic Games . In the individual standings of the Games, the athlete remained in 15th place.

In 2005, Serdyuk excelled at the World Championships in the hall held in Aalborg . In the individual competition, he won a bronze medal, and as part of the Ukrainian team he became the champion of team competitions.

According to the results of the qualification of a personal tournament at the Beijing Olympics, Alexander showed the 20th result. In the first round of the playoffs Serdyuk knocked out the German Jens Pieper from the tournament (107: 105), but in the second round in a bitter struggle lost to Rafal Dobrovolski from Poland. In the final classification, the Ukrainian athlete took 17th place.

Serdyuk also played in the team classification of the Beijing Olympics . However, the Ukrainian team in this tournament managed to win only a quarterfinal match with the Taiwan team (214: 211). In the next stage, the Ukrainians lost to Italy (221: 223), and in the match for bronze - to the PRC (219: 222), thus taking 4th place in the tournament.

At the Ukrainian Indoor Championships 2010 , speaking for the Kharkov team, Serdyuk became the silver medalist.
