Oregon (“Oregon”) is an American jazz band. It was formed in 1970 in New York. Initial Composition:
- Ralph Towner - classical and 12 string guitar , piano , mellotron , synthesizers , trumpet , oboe , flugelhorn , horn , flute , drums .
- Paul McKendless - oboe , english horn , bass clarinet , soprano and piccolo sax , flute .
- Colin Walcott - tabla , drums, sitar , classical and 12-string guitar, clarinet , piano .
- Glen Moore - bass, bass guitar, piano, violin , viola , flute.

Towner and Moore were friends. They began collaborating in the late 1960s while still students at the University of Oregon .
