Early years
He was born on November 15, 1924 in the village of Luchesa (now - Pochinkovsky district of Smolensk region) in the family of an employee. Russian. After finishing 10 years of high school, he worked on a collective farm.
During the Great Patriotic War
Member of World War II from October 1943 .
On July 11, 1944, in an offensive battle near the village of Shakhozitsa [1], the shooter of the 312th Infantry Regiment (26th Infantry Division, 22nd Army, 2nd Baltic Front) Private Seleznev was the first to burst into the enemy’s trench, destroying two Germans.
By order of July 18, 1944, for the exemplary fulfillment of command assignments in battles with Nazi invaders, Red Army soldier Vladimir Seleznev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree (No. 460548).
On October 28, 1944 , during the attack on the settlement Vecheriai ( Latvia ), the reconnaissance platoon on foot reconnaissance of the 1257th Infantry Regiment (379th Infantry Division, 3rd Attack Army, 2nd Baltic Front) V. I. Seleznev, reaching enemy trenches, a grenade destroyed machine gun crew.
By order of November 16, 1944, for the exemplary fulfillment of command assignments in battles with the Nazi invaders, Vladimir Ivanovich Seleznev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
- By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 26, 1958, for the exemplary execution of command assignments in battles with the Nazi invaders, Vladimir Ivanovich Seleznev was re- awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree (No. 2377).
On the night of November 20, 1944, Seleznev V.I. with two scouts in the town of Raves ( Latvia ) quietly crawled to the firing point of the enemy and threw grenades at her. Two German soldiers were killed, one captured.
By order of December 5, 1944, for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with the Nazi invaders, Vladimir Ivanovich Seleznev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree (No. 42639).
After re-awarding the Order of Glory of the 1st degree in 1958, Vladimir Ivanovich Seleznev became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
The war ended in Berlin . 4 times was wounded.
Peacetime
In 1945, demobilized. After graduating from the mining technical school from 1949 to 1954 he worked as a foreman, then as the head of the mining department of the Krichevsky cement plant. In 1954-1957 he studied at the highest engineering courses of the USSR Ministry of Construction Materials. Upon completion, he was sent to work at the Sukholozhsky cement plant. He started as the head of the mining department, then became the deputy director of the plant for general issues. With the formation in 1971 of the Sukholozhsk-cement plant, he was appointed deputy general director of the plant.
Recently, he lived in the city of Sukhoi Log . He died on June 27, 2013 [2] , was buried in the city cemetery of Sukhoi Log.
Member of the anniversary Victory Parades of 1985 and 2005 in Moscow on Red Square.
Rewards
He was awarded three orders of Glory of all degrees , orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree , the Red Star , the medal "For Courage" and other medals. For many years of work, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor , Badge of Honor , and the medal " For Valiant Labor. In commemoration of the centenary of the birth of V. I. Lenin . "
Honorary citizen of the city of Sukhoi Log .
The name of Suleznev V.I. is the street in Sukhoi Logu.
