Kalbi or in the case of a wrong transfer from the New Romanization, galbi is a Korean dish that is grilled from beef ribs. “Kalbi” means “ribs”, for the exact indication of the dish, in contrast to raw ribs, the name “kalbi kui” (ext. Grilled kalbi) is used.

Ingredients: beef ribs, garlic, sugar, butter, hot or black pepper, lemon or lemonade, honey.
Types of Calbi
- Twajigalbi (돼지 갈비) - made from pork ribs marinated in Korean soy sauce (조선 간장). Also called "meuntvedzhigalbi» (매운 돼지 갈비), which literally translates from Korean as "sharp pork ribs."
- Daccalbi (닭 갈비) is a variation of the dish using chicken legs. Cochujan paste is used as seasoning.
- Tokkalbi (떡 갈비) - from beef ribs.
Origin
The word kalbi comes from the Mongolian word qarbing, meaning the lower abdomen. It was first used in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty .
