Hussein Özgürgün studied political sciences at Ankara University and management in the UK . In 1998, 2003, 2005 and 2009 he was elected as a member of the Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus . From February to December 2006, he served as chairman of the conservative National Unity Party . In 2004-2009 was a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe . Since 2009, he became Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the government of Dervish Eroglu [1] . With the election of Eroglu as president, Özgürgün acted as prime minister from April 23, 2010, until the appointment of Irsen Kucuk .
Ozgyurgun is married and has two children.
