The cottage was built at its own expense by the famous Russian singer, People's Artist of the USSR , USSR State Prize laureate Valeria Vladimirovna Barsova in 1947 . In the building, in addition to residential premises, there is an auditorium with 50 seats with a stage.
The singer lived here from 1947 to 1967 . According to her will, she gave the first floor of the summer residence to Sochi.
From 1968 to 1985 , a children's art school worked here. On January 9, 1988 , a museum was opened. There are 4 halls with a total area of 94 sq.m. The total number of exhibits is about 1 thousand. The museum tells about the life and work of V.V. Barsova, household items from the 40-50s of the XX century are presented.
