Biography
Fomin Nikolai Nikitovich was born on May 8, 1920 in the village of Sofia Vyselki, Novosilsky district , now Korsakov district, Oryol region .
He studied at Korsakov secondary school. After graduation he worked on the collective farm "Green Oak".
In 1938 he was drafted into the Red Army , in 1939 entered the Oryol Frunze Armored School , from which he graduated in 1940 .
Participation in the Great Patriotic War
Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941 . For bravery in battles in the first month of the war he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner .
He participated in numerous battles for Kharkiv. February 13, 1942 during the battle for the station Likhachevo, left the tank and led the attack of the infantry. In the melee, he killed a German officer, but he himself was mortally wounded.
