The 6th Leningrad Partisan Brigade was created on the basis of the 1st Regiment. It was formed in the first days of October 1943 in the territory of the Plyusky district on the basis of the order of the partisan movement No. 60219 of the Leningrad headquarters dated September 20, 1943 about transforming the regiments of the 2nd LBP into independent partisan brigades. Victor Pavlovich Obedkov was appointed the commander of the 6th Brigade, Vitaly Dmitrievich Zaitsev was appointed Commissioner. Within a month, the number of the brigade doubled and soon amounted to more than 1,830 fighters.

Brigade Fights
- On the night of August 1, 1943 - the defeat of the Plus garrison of the Germans.
- On the afternoon of September 17, 1943 , the “Christmas gift” to the invaders - the defeat of the enemy garrisons in the village of Lyubuazhie and the village of Cherenok, Osminsky district.
- On October 18, the fighters of the brigade defeated the German garrison at Plyussa station, undermined 2 enemy military echelons, destroyed the track facilities and freed up to 1,000 Soviet citizens from being hijacked to Germany.
- On the night of January 16, 1944 , detachments of the 6th LPB raided the Mshinskaya station.
The Nazis sent a special train to repel the station. In the diary of military operations of Army Group North, it was stated in connection with this: “On the night of January 16, partisans attacked the Mshinskaya railway station. All special buildings are destroyed. Rails and arrows everywhere blown up. " Two other detachments on the same night attacked Serebryanka station and blew up 2 echelons with enemy equipment.
- On the night of February 3, 1944 - the secondary defeat of the German garrison in the village at Plyussa station, where the reserves for a counterattack on the advancing Soviet forces were concentrated.
During the six-hour battle, 400 Nazis were killed. The guerrillas destroyed the station with all its annexes, 760 rails, 60 cars and 30 wagons with various military assets. After this raid, an important station for the enemy was finally incapacitated.
- On February 3, guerrillas of the 6th Brigade blocked the way and engaged in battle with one of the enemy’s columns of 3,000 soldiers and officers, hurrying from Plyuss station north to the village of Lysnitsy. After a five-hour battle, the enemy column with heavy losses was forced to retreat to Plyussa.
- February 9-15, 1944 - bloody battles for the Bolshak and the village of Lyshnitsy - Nezhadovo - Vyazhishchi - Ostrovno, the final liberation of these settlements.
- On February 16-18, 1944 , the battle for the villages of Maloye Zakhonye, Tushitovo, Mankoshev Lug and together with the units of the 46th Luga rifle division, the complete expulsion of the Nazi invaders from Plyussy.
