On land and at sea (almanac)

“On land and at sea” - the annual artistic and geographical almanac , published by the Geografgiz publishing house (from 1963 - the Thought publishing house ) from 1960 to 1992 .

The almanac published stories, stories and essays about the life of the peoples of the Soviet Union and foreign countries, artistic descriptions of the nature of the Earth, sketches from the life of the animal world, ethnographic notes on the life of the indigenous and small peoples of Siberia and the Far North, as well as the peoples of Asia, Africa, North and South America, Australia and Oceania, stories from the history of geographical research, adventure literature, science fiction by Soviet and foreign authors, non-fiction articles.

Periodically in the collections abridged versions or individual chapters from domestic and foreign scientific and popular science publications on zoology, geography, history, archeology, ethnography, etc. were published.

At different times, the editorial board of the almanac included I. A. Efremov , I. M. Zabelin , A. P. Kazantsev , S. V. Obruchev , S. A. Abramov .
