Story
In search of her mother, Hannah Martin, after graduating from college, decides to go to her hometown Gatlin. On the way, she picks up street preacher Zechariah, whose car broke down. He tells her about her name, and then disappears in the car. From what he sees Hannah moves down to the corn field, where sheriff Cora suddenly appears, who takes Hannah to the city hospital. There, she learns that Isaac was not killed by “Those Who Bypass the Rows” after the death god took control of his body in the first film. However, instead, he fell into a coma for 19 years. The hospital is filled with strange patients who talk about prophecy involving Hannah and Isaac. There she meets Dr. Michaels and hospital worker Gabriel.
After she leaves the hospital and resumes her journey, the mysterious SUV begins chasing her. Upon reaching the motel, Hannah almost steps on the dead crow, and then sees a strangely smiling boy (Daniel L. Nicoletti), who suddenly appeared on a chair next to her car. In the office of the motel, she meets a couple of teenagers: a girl and her boyfriend Matt. The next morning, when Hannah leaves the motel, a small crowd gathers around Hannah’s car and discusses it. Meanwhile, Isaac wakes up after a 19-year-old dream and it turns out that he has a son. Hannah returns to the hospital, where she begins seeing visions in an empty corridor before Gabrielle appears behind her. He shows her an archive in which she can find a birth certificate. While they are in the dark, Jake, Cora’s crazy brother, nearly kills Hannah with an ax, chasing the mouse. Gabriel leaves Hannah alone to bring Jake back to her room. Alone, Hannah finds a scythe fixing her birth certificate on the wall.
In the middle of the night, a strange woman tries to touch Hannah while she lies in bed, but leaves when she realizes Hannah is awake. Hannah is stalking an SUV with a woman. Stopping, Hannah runs into Jesse, another odd teenager, carrying machetes. He says that the owner of the truck is Rachel Colby, the same woman as on the birth certificate. In her issue, Hannah finds a phrase on the wall in the shower, “LEAVE OR DIE.” Returning to church, Rachel runs into Isaac. It turns out that Rachel is the widow of Amos (both Rachel and Amos appeared in the Children of Corn film in 1984), and she convinces Isaac that her daughter is dead. When she leaves after a dispute with a prophet, the latter tells how she will be punished for her betrayal. Rachel later talks to Dr. Michaels, who simply wants to move beyond the ideas of cults and victims. He tells Rachel to do everything he needs to stop Isaac.
Dr. Michaels returns to the hospital where he discovers that Jake clogged the sink and flooded the office. Isaac emerges from the shadows, demonstrating supernatural power. Michaels warns him to leave Hannah alone. However, the prophet pulls a power cord out of the wall and throws it on the wet floor, killing the doctor. Later, Isaac approaches his son, who is considered to be Matt. He is proud that his son will continue the legacy. However, Matt himself seems less enthusiastic. While Gabriel is talking to Isaac on the cornfield, they both talk about the events that have happened and about the prophecy, but Gabriel mocks Isaac for letting his students hang him on the cross (the events of the first film). Hannah, meanwhile, is again knocked out of the way, but this time drunk Matt. After she screams at him, Matt goes to Hannah with a shovel and hands her to her, saying that he is a descendant of Isaac and that she will find out her origin. Hannah starts digging the grave of Colby's daughter, obviously Rachel's dead child. When she digs, the bloody dead body falls right above her head. However, this is only an illusion. Rachel comes to the cemetery and warns Hannah that there is no way back by opening the coffin. Hannah says she will leave if Rachel tells her the truth. Rachel refuses to tell what is the mother of Hannah.
Hannah opens the coffin, which turns out to be empty. Rachel confesses and says that Isaac wants Hannah to make a new, “pure” race. Hannah accuses Rachel of the madness and runs away. In the cornfields, the cult gathered to celebrate, as Matt is branded as the first child. While Hannah is walking along the corn fields, she is surrounded by children, one of whom introduces a sedative to her. Hannah wakes up surrounded by cult members and a blazing campfire. She is given a corn husk crown on her head and is branding her hand, as well as Matt. They begin to perform the union ceremony between her and Matt, but Hannah runs away. The cult is trying to catch it, activating the irrigation system and driving a motorcycle chase. Rachel appears in front of the cult members, claiming that Isaac is a crook and the prophecy will not come true. On the fields, Matt's girlfriend is trying to help Hannah escape because she wants to be with Matt. Soon they were cornered by a cult that captured them. It turns out that Gabriel was one of the motorcyclists who took Hannah on his bike. However, Matt's girlfriend was unlucky, and Isaac orders Matt to kill her. Matt refuses and Isaac, cursing his son, kills her with machete Jesse. Matt manages to escape through the corn field.
Gabrielle and Hannah are hiding in a barn where they bathe and make love. All this happens at the moment when the clock strikes twelve. Matt soon appears in the barn, and Hannah asks him about her mother and, having received no answer, leaves to look for her. At the time, in the barn, Gabriel shows Matt a collection of agricultural tools. Kissing him, Gabriel promises that Matt will be with his girlfriend. He leaves the barn with Hannah, and Matt pierces himself with a scythe. At the hospital, Rachel is held in a basement. At the same time, Hannah comes a vision of her beating up with Cora. In the corridor, she meets Jake, who warns her about the false prophet in sheep's clothing, which is in fact a wolf. Gabriel kills Jesse using supernatural power. Hannah confronts Isaac, who now considers himself "the one who walks between the rows." Gabriel storms the hospital rooms, and when Cora tries to shoot him, he forces her to commit suicide. He then confronts Isaac and explains that he was the firstborn child of corn, and that Isaac rejected his birthright in favor of his own son.
Gabriel tells Hannah to kill Isaac, but, listening to his mother, refuses to do so. However, Gabriel explains how everything that happened went according to his plan. Then he controls Isaac with his strength and tells him that he is the One who walks between the rows. Having stolen the body of the first born child, he manipulated everything from the very beginning. He throws Isaac to the ground and kills him with a lead pipe. Rachel hits Gabriel when he tries to convince Hannah to stay. They manage to escape from the hospital, but before that Gabriel tells Hanna that the seeds have already been sown. Gabrielle heals almost instantly, and begins to blow up the hospital, causing Jake to die. Rachel and Hannah are walking down the road, but Hannah now knows that she is now pregnant with a child of the One who bypasses the ranks.
