History
In 1964, the "Congress of Micronesia" was created as the legislative assembly of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands .
In 1978, the Marshall Islands voted in favor of independence and liberation from the target region in a referendum .
On May 1, 1979, the Marshall Islands Congress adopted the first constitution, and in the same year parliament held its first meeting.
The last parliamentary elections were held on November 17, 2007 .
