Chernoyarsk Uyezd (since 1921 - Krasnoarmeysk Uyezd ) is an administrative unit of the Astrakhan province , Saratov and Tsaritsyn provinces of the Russian Empire and the RSFSR , which existed in 1782 - 1923 . County town - Black Yar .

Geography
The county was located in the northwestern part of the province on the right bank of the Volga . Area (1897) - 11 858.0 miles ².
History
In 1708, the city of Black Yar was assigned to the Kazan province , and in 1717 to the new to the Astrakhan province. In 1782, the Chernoyarsk Uyezd was formed as part of the Saratov governorate, and from 1797 in the Saratov province . In 1802, the county became part of the Astrakhan province .
In 1918, the county was transferred to Tsaritsyn province [2] . In 1920, in connection with the formation of the Kalmyk autonomous region of the volost and the village of the Chernoyarsk district of the Tsaritsyn province , lying south of the Abganerov and Aksai volosts were included in the Kalmyk autonomous region . Moreover, Chervlyonsky and Northern aimaks of the Maloderbetovsky ulus of the Kalmyk steppe of the Astrakhan province were transferred to the Chernoyarsk district [3] . In the same Chernoyarsk district was renamed Krasnoarmeysky , due to the transfer of the county center from the city of Black Yar to Sarepta , the inclusion of Sarepta in the Chernoyarsk district and the renaming of Sarepta to the city of Krasnoarmeysk [2] .
In 1923, the Krasnoarmeysky district was abolished, its territory was annexed to Tsaritsyno district [2] .
Population
According to the 1897 census, the county had a population of 100,316 [1] , including 4,226 in the town of Cherny Yar .
National composition
Russians - 50.5%, Ukrainians - 40.7%; Kalmyks - 4.6%, Tatars - 3.2%.
Administrative Division
In 1798, the Chernoyarsk district was plotted on the General Land Surveying Plan of the Astrakhan province and consisted of 3 parts on a scale of 1 mile in the English inch [4] .
