Slices of fried sausage
Medisterpöls ( dates: Medisterpølse ) or medister ( medister ) is a Danish thick spicy sausage made from minced pork stuffed in a pork intestine .
The name comes from met (pork) and ister ( lard ). For the first time, Mediterpöls is mentioned in the Swedish book on households at the beginning of the 16th century [1] . Since then, the sausage recipe has changed a bit, for example: instead of manually minced meat, minced meat minced using kitchen technology is now used, which gives the sausage a different texture.
Sausage is made in the form of one large piece, it is cut into pieces and boiled or fried before serving. From spices , minced garlic , salt , allspice and black pepper are usually added.
