Emergenz ( German: emergenz - appearance, from the Latin. Emergo - appear, leave) - special outgrowths on the surface of the epidermis of plants, in the formation of which, in addition to the skin, the cells lying under it also take part.
Emergences include spikes covering the leaf petioles and young shoots of roses , raspberries , blackberries . Sometimes hop hairs, spikes on the fruits of many umbelliferous , horse chestnut , and dope are referred to emergents. There are transitional forms between emergences and trichomes . Emergents are randomly located on the epidermis and this differs from spines morphologically similar to them.
The epidermis is formed not only outside the organ, but also inside if a cavity is formed in the organ. For example, the tissue lining the cavity of the fruit ( peas , beans , beans , poppies , dope , etc.) is identical in origin to the epidermis of the outer wall of the fetus.
