Sura begins with an oath confirming the evidence of the power of Allah and emphasizing that a guardian and an observer are assigned to each person. Man is required to reflect on how he was created.
| By the sky and the night traveler! How could you know what a night traveler is? This is a star, penetrating the sky with its light. There is no soul for which there would be no keeper. Let the man see what he was made of. It is created from a pouring fluid which goes between loins and chest bones. Verily, He is able to bring him back. That day secrets will be tried (or revealed) and then he will have neither strength nor helper. I swear by returning heaven (returning water to earth or returning heavenly bodies that rise from one side and enter the other)! I swear by the land being cracked (when plants germinate, or when water comes out of the earth, or when the dead are raised)! Verily, it is the Word that discriminates, not a joke. They are plotting and I am plotting machinations. End deferring non-believers and immediately with them at all! 86: 1–17 ( Kuliev ) |
