Career

In clubs

From the 1988/89 season, Henriksen played in the lower Danish divisions for AB from Copenhagen . He began to play as an attacker , but in the end he revealed himself as a central defender. In the 1995/96 season, he entered the Super League with the club, and a year before the team reached the final of the Danish Cup . Only at the age of 27, Rene became a base player of the Copenhagen, before that he was a replacement player. In the 1998/99 season , Akademisk first entered the top three clubs in the country, and also won the Cup , after which Henriksen moved to the Greek Panathinaikos , the deal amounted to kr 20,000,000 [1] .

As part of the Greek club, Rene reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League 2001/02 , where they were beaten by Barcelona , and in the 2003/04 season they won the championship and the Greek Cup . In 2000, Henriksen was named the “ Footballer of the Year in Denmark ”.

In the 2005/06 season, he returned to AB, who almost flew out of the First Division of Denmark. This season was the last for Renee.
