Paul Vidal de la Blache ( French: Vidal de la Blache ; January 22, 1845 , Pezenas , April 5, 1918 , Tamaris ) - French geographer and geopolitician. The creator of the French geographic school, in which particular importance is attached to the geography of man. The author of studies in the field of physical geography and population geography, “The Picture of the Geography of France”, 1903, “East France” (Lorraine and Alsace), 1917, etc., a large atlas on geography and world history (contains maps on ancient, medieval, and modern history , geography of continents and countries). Founder (1891) of the geographic French magazine Annales de géographie.
