Geography
The county was located in the central part of the province on the right bank of the Volga . Area (1897) - 4852.0 miles Β².
History
Enotaevsky district was formed in 1785 as part of the Astrakhan region of the Caucasian governorate . Since 1796 - as part of the Astrakhan province .
In 1925, the Enotaevsky district, like other districts of the Astrakhan province, was abolished, and the Enotaevsky district was formed on its territory.
Administrative Division
Enotaevsky district in 1798 was plotted on the General Land Surveying Plan of the Astrakhan province and consisted of 4 parts [2]

Population
According to the 1897 census, the countyβs population was 76,080 [1] , including 2826 in the city of Enotaevsk .
National composition
Russians - 69.4%, Ukrainians - 18.0%; Kalmyks - 8.5%, Kazakhs - 3.6%.
