History

The club was founded in 1907. He started playing in the USSR Championships in 1960, until 1978 he performed in the β€œB” class of the USSR Championship . Before the collapse of the USSR, he played in the second league.

When forming the Russian championship, he was able to compete in the first league , where he won the Western zone for the second season, but could not enter the top three in the transitional tournament. In 1994, he again became the winner of the league under the new regulations, without division into zones and received the right to play in the elite of Russian football. Since 1992, the team was headed by Oleg Dolmatov .

"Chernomorets" played in the big leagues until 2001. The highest place that managed to win - the sixth. Novorossiysk did it twice in 1997 (under the leadership of Oleg Dolmatov ) and 2000 (under the leadership of Anatoly Baydachny ). At the end of the 2000 season, sixth place allowed the club to perform in the UEFA2001 / 02 Cup . In the first round, β€œChernomorets” played with the Spanish β€œ Valencia ”. At home, with the strongest wind, Novorossiysk lost 0: 1, and lost away with a big score 0: 5. Championship club finished in last place.

In 2002, Chernomorets again won the first division championship, and the following year again dropped out of the top division. In the course of the season, Chernomorets reached the RFPL Cup final, the only draw of which was in that year. In 2004, Chernomorets was headed by Krasnodar leaders Bachir Khut and Alexander Podobedov, and the head coach was coach Alexander Garmashov , who quarreled with the leaders of Chernomorets. The team from the first rounds struggled for survival, and after 16 rounds on June 8, Garmashov was temporarily replaced by Anvar Bikzhanov , who worked only three matches, and until the end of the season Viktor Tishchenko led the club. Chernomorets managed to maintain a place in the first division, but because of violations in the financial and legal activities of the club, the RFU licensing committee deprived Chernomorets of professional status. Renamed FC Novorossiysk, in 2005 the club played in the amateur league. Having won the championship LFL SFD and LFL Cup SFD, the club again received the right to play in the second division. In 2007, Chernomorets, under the leadership of Khazret Dyshekov, took first place in the South zone of the second division and entered the first division. In the course of the 2008 season, Dyshkov resigned and Chernomorets headed Nikolay Southerner . The Sailors finished the season well, finishing 9th. For the next season, the team changed most of the squad, and Southerner was fired after the 6th round. "Chernomorets" firmly settled on the bottom of the standings and as a result, neither Edward Sarkisov nor Alexander Irkhin saved him . The club went to the second division, but not for long. Vitaly Bout , who became CEO in mid-2009, invited Dyshekov as the head coach, and in 2010, the team secured the first place for the three rounds before the finish and the exit in the FNL. Also in 2010, Chernomorets became the winner of the PFL Cup among the winners of the zones of the second division, which after the disbandment of the PFL remained in the club on a permanent basis. In the season of the FNL 2011/2012 Dyshkov went to Astrakhan Volgar-Gazprom , and Chernomorets was headed by Igor Cherniy . Despite the intensive selection in the winter, he was unable to save the team a place in the FNL. Chernomorets took 18th place and moved to the second division.

Almost all the players left the team, with the exception of two Arthurs - Minosyan and Grigoryan. The club has changed its CEO and head coach. Viktor Tsapaev and team leader Vladimir Popov invited to the team the legendary Chernomorets coach Oleg Dolmatov , who managed to create a team from scratch that for a long time was leading in the South zone in the 2012/13 season. At the last moment Nazran β€œAngusht” only by additional indicators ahead of Novorossiysk and moved to the first division. In the 2013/14 season, Chernomorets with a margin of five points lost first place to Astrakhan Volgar. The gap between Novorossiysk and third place was 25 points. In the 2014/15 season, Chernomorets was only the third, although it could take first place if it won the last match of the season at home with Stavropol Dynamo . At the end of the season, the contract with Dolmatov ended, and Chernomorets was led by local trainer Edward Sarkisov . Starting from two away victories, the club stalled in the next rounds and eventually finished fourth, gaining as many points as Krasnodar-2. In the course of the 2015/16 season in the club, the CEO has changed again. Anatoly Shmachkov again led the club, as in the 2011/12 season, but not for long. The licensing department of the RFU limited the club’s application to 18 players. In the summer, Maxim Klimov became the new CEO. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Sarkisov was tasked to focus on local football players. The team had to create almost from scratch. For the winter break, Chernomorets was in fourth place, and in the spring it was greeted with a victory over the then leader, and in the end, the winner of the tournament, Volgograd Rotor. Three defeats in the next three rounds dropped Chernomorets to fifth place, in which the team finished. Before the season 2017/18 the team has noticeably strengthened. After an unexpected defeat in Bataysk from the β€œAcademy of Football. V. Monday "Sarkisov by mutual consent of the parties left his post. In the match with the Rostov SKA "Chernomorets" led by Anatoly Morozov. Novorossiysk won 2-0, and already for the next game, Chernomorets was headed by Hazret Dyshekov.

Club emblem

The emblem of the club has changed several times throughout its long history. The variant of the emblem of 1907 , if it existed, has not survived to this day at all. The emblem now is a circle with the St. Andrew’s flag , Chernomorets on it, a soccer ball and Novorossiysk.

European Cup Performance

Missed debut

Chernomorets could debut in European Cups in 2000. At the end of the 1999/00 season, Russia, having gained more than 8 points, was among the winners of the UEFA Fair Play rating , and in accordance with the regulations (the winner of the Fair Play rating, UEFA was given the right to delegate its additional representative automatically) participated in the draw UEFA . The best in the Russian Fair Play ranking of the 1999 season was Moscow Torpedo , which has already won the right to participate in the tournament, and in the case of favoring the lot in the UEFA-2000/01 Cup, the second in the Russian rating, Chernomorets, would take part [2 ] . However, the results of the draw were unsuccessful for Russia: Belgium and Spain ( Liers and Rayo Vallecano ) gained additional places in the qualifying round of the UEFA Cup. The losers, in accordance with the stipulated rules, divided the prize fund allocated by UEFA for the promotion of the Fair Play program [3] [4] .

In a similar scenario, in 1996, an additional place in the UEFA Cup was awarded to CSKA , with the only difference that the participant from the country was then selected not according to the Fair Play rating, but in accordance with the occupied place in the Russian championship.

Matches with Valencia

However, in 2001, the Novorossiysk debut in European competitions under the auspices of UEFA did take place. Thanks to the occupied 6th place in the Russian Championship 2000, Chernomorets won the right to play in the UEFA Cup 2001/02 from the first round, where in the first match with a strong northeast, he lost to the two-time finalist of the Champions League seasons 1999/2000 and 2000/01 Spanish β€œ Valencia ” with a score of 0: 1 [5] ; in the return game I lost with a big score - 0: 5 [6] .
