It originates in Lake Ostrovenskoye . 1 km west of the village Malinovets flows into Mstu (the Baltic Sea basin ) on the left. It flows through the territory of the Valdai Upland .
15 km from the mouth to the left, the Mshanka flows into Flax .
On the banks of the Lennaya are the villages of Mill , Gorka, Vashugovo, Big Ends , Korzhava Dernyakovskaya , Kapterevo , Dernyaki , Tereblyany Pervy , Tereblyany Pervy , Velikusha .
On the section between the villages of Mills and Bolshie Kontsi, the river forms a narrow elongated lake ( Flax ) with a length of about 8 and a width of up to 1 km. The bed is rocky, winding.
