Station Description
Zelenogorsk - zone station. It is the end point for part of the suburban electric trains from St. Petersburg , as well as the RA2 “rail bus” (previously D1 diesel trains - some continued to move to St. Petersburg - subsequently diesel trains) Vyborg - Primorsk - Zelenogorsk. The station also stops trains of increased comfort. Long-distance trains at the station do not stop.
The Vyborg course was electrified in 1951 [2] .
There are three platforms at the station. The first platform has a high and a low part. The low part of the platform is adjacent to the station building. The second platform is an island one. The third platform consists of a lateral (despite the location between the two paths) high part and partly island, partly lateral to the neighboring low part path [3] . The RA2 rail bus of the Zelenogorsk - Primorsk - Vyborg route departs from the low part of the platform and the RA2 rail bus of the St. Petersburg - Zelenogorsk - Primorsk - Vyborg route stops at this lowest part of the platform. In summer, a six-car electric train to Sovetsky also runs on the Seaside route, which is under the M62 diesel locomotive [4] - this electric train also stops at the lower part of the third platform [5] .
All platforms have safety guards for the safety of passengers when passing high-speed trains.
The platforms are connected to the station by an underground pedestrian crossing .
The station is a junction ; the railway to Primorsk departs from it. Previously, this railway departed from Ushkovo station , but after the transformation of Ushkovo station into a stopping point in 2008, this line starts at Zelenogorsk station, on the Zelenogorsk-Ushkovo section runs parallel to the main line and departs from it before the stopping point Ushkovo.
Station
The first wooden station building was opened with the station in 1870 [6] .
Due to the increase in passenger traffic, it became clear that the capacity of the old station is not enough. Therefore, in 1917, construction began on a new, stone, building of the Terioka Station, designed by the Finnish architect Bruno Granholm . December 1, 1917 the station building was put into operation [6] .
Contemporaries recalled:
“Theriok Station was comfortable in the city. The building was a tall, bright room for expectations. Next to the hall were restaurants of the first and second classes. ... A peculiarity of the Terijoki restaurant was also the fact that the samovar stood in full view, which was not anywhere else in other parts of the country. Two aprons of the station were connected by a tunnel, which has survived to this day ” [7] .
During the Soviet-Finnish and World War II, the station building was badly damaged. In 1949, the railway station Terioki station was renamed Zelenogorsk. In 1950, the building was reconstructed by the architect A. A. Grechannikov [6] . The reconstructed building stands to this day.
On December 14, 2011, a fire broke out under the renovated roof of the station, which was assigned a complexity number 1 bis [8] . In the summer of 2012, after a large-scale reconstruction, the station was opened. The exterior of the building, internal communications, redevelopment of premises have changed, turnstiles have been installed, the tunnel under the tracks has been updated, a modern video surveillance and warning system has appeared. Now this complex fully fits into the concept of a smart station, which is convenient for passengers, including those with reduced mobility, and for railway workers [9] .
