Biography
Born on September 20, 1923 in the village of Malaya Belozerka [1] . By nationality Ukrainian . After finishing 5 classes of school, he worked as a joiner at a ship repair factory in the city of Kotlas, Arkhangelsk Region.
In the Red Army since May 1942 , since that time he participated in the battles of the Great Patriotic War.
F.A. Kharchenko was one of the best snipers of the front, destroyed about a hundred fascists.
January 23, 1944 in the battle for the village of Hosea [2] , north of the city of Novgorod, Kharchenko, taking command of the unit, raised the fighters to attack. In this battle, he died.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 6, 1965, on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the Soviet people’s victory over Nazi Germany for the exemplary performance of combat missions of the command on the front of the struggle against the German fascist invaders and the courage and heroism shown, senior sergeant Kharchenko Fedor Alekseevich was posthumously appropriated title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

- He was buried in the city of Novgorod near the Kremlin wall.
