In 1977 he graduated from the Mechanics and Mechanics Department of Dnepropetrovsk State University, majoring in Dynamics and Strength of Machines. Specialist in the stability of thin-walled structures.

Since 1990 , lives in Israel. After leaving for Israel, in 1990 , the album “House on the River Bank” was released in the USSR with a preface by A. Gorodnitsky , although bard records were not very reluctant at that time, and the artist managed to leave for Israel.

In Israel, Alexander Medvedenko went “his universities” - he repaired tires, worked as a factory worker, a security guard, and a broker.

Since 1991 , from the day it was founded, it has been working on Radio REKA (Israeli radio in Russian).

On the radio, Alexander uses the pseudonym “Alexander Dov” (“dov” in Hebrew means “bear”), and in reports for Radio “Liberty” (being his Israeli correspondent from 1994 to 2000) he was named Alexander Gold (the pseudonym was chosen in accordance with hair color).

On the radio "REKA" constantly runs informational and analytical programs (current affairs magazines "Chronicle of the Day"), and the weekly discussion authoring program "Hyde Park". During his work on the radio, he released the following author’s programs: “Unforgettable Melodies” - Russian songs in Hebrew translations, “The Seventh String” - a transmission about the author’s song (including 50 programs about the work of V. Vysotsky , 16 - about the work of B. Okudzhava , programs about M. Ancharov , A. Galich , etc.)

From 1994 to 2004, he worked on the first channel of Israeli television as the host of the weekly Kaleidoscope program in Russian, and is a regular guest of the Seven Forty program (Israel, Channel 9 ).

Performs concerts in Israel, has repeatedly been on tour in America, Russia and Ukraine.

In Israel, Alexander has published two copyright CDs (“House on the River Bank” and “At Any Time”), as well as a disk of songs by Bulat Okudzhava in his performance (“Musician”). The CD "Favorites" was released by NMC in the series "The Best Bards of Israel." His songs were included in the Anthology of the Israeli author's song ( 2002 ).

Alexander Medvedenko’s song “At Any Time and on Any Land” became a hit, popular among Russian emigrants on all continents, it was included in several collection discs (“It Was By the Sea”, etc.).

The songs of Alexander Medvedenko are also performed by Galina Khomchik , Lidia Cheboksarova , Alexei Brunov , Elena Lebedeva .

The songs “Once Again about the River”, “Sunset Function” (co-authored by Y. Vizbor ), “At All Times” were included in the Anthology of the author’s song ( 2002 , compiled by D. A. Sukharev ) and the Anthology of the bard song ( 2005 , compiled R. A. Shipov). Lyrics were published in other collections.

In Israel, Alexander repeatedly participated in the “Our Stars” festivals (gala concerts in Israel), in the project “Bulat Okudzhava Festival”, organized by the B. Okudzhava Foundation (in Israel and America), in concerts in memory of those who died in the Dolphinarium.
