Peterson, Eric

Eric Peterson ( born May 14, 1964 ) is an American guitarist , one of the founders, author of texts and music, and a permanent member of the thrash metal band Testament . He is also known as the founder of his own symphonic black metal side project , where he is the guitarist and main vocalist. The Testament performs rhythm guitar parts. In 1993, after the departure of Alex Skolnik from the group, he took over part of the solo parts. On the album of the group The Formation of Damnation , which marked the return of Skolnik to the band, shared with him the main solos in some songs. Since then, Peterson has been playing solo along with Skolnik. Unlike Alex, whose solo felt a classic lesson, Eric's solo is more melodic, more blues, inspired by Michael Schenker, Joe Bonamassa, Jimmy Hendrix ^[1] . In addition, Eric uses the wah-wah pedal in some songs, explaining that he wants to convey the spirit of Mercyful Fate guitarists. ^[one]

Eric was married to Kirk Hammett's ex-wife Rebecca, with whom he is currently divorced. From her he has a child ^[2] .

For most of his career at Testament, Eric has used Gibson guitars, notably Gibson Explorer , Flying V, and Les Paul. Currently uses Dean Guitars guitars. He has signed Dean V and Z guitars.
