Biography
From 1954 to 1965 he played for Peñarol. During this time, he 8 times became the champion of Uruguay. Maidana became part of the legendary team, which in the period from 1958 to 1962 won the championship of Uruguay 5 times in a row.
In 1960, Peñarol won the first ever Libertadores Cup. The following year, “Carboneros” repeated this achievement, and also won the Intercontinental Cup, surpassing the Portuguese “ Benfica ” in the sum of two matches. In all these triumphs, the gates of Peñarol invariably defended the Maidan.
