Length - 55 km. The catchment area is about 441 km². [1] Average water consumption 2.7 m³ / s.
It originates in the Styavnicka-Vrhi massif near Banská Štiavnica . Flows to the south through the districts of Banská Štiavnica , Krupina and flows into Ipel in the territory of the Levice district. The settlements of Prenčov , Gontianske-Nemce , Gontianske-Tesare , Terani , Gorne-Semerovets are located on the banks of Štiavnica.
