History
The party was founded in 1997 by a group of members of the Serbian Renewal Movement . The chairman of the party is Velimir Ilić .
In 2000, the party participated in parliamentary elections as part of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia and won 8 seats. In 2003, the party joined the coalition with its progenitor, the Serbian Renewal Movement Party, and won 9 seats. In the 2007 and 2008 elections, the party spoke in alliance with the Democratic Party of Serbia Vojislav Kostunica and won 10 and 9 seats, respectively.
The only minister from the party was the leader of the party, Velimir Ilic, who in 2004-07 was the Minister of Investments, and in 2007-08 - the Minister of Infrastructure. The party is currently in opposition to the government of Mirko Cvetkovic .
