Construction History

Enlisted in the fleet on April 29, 1954 . Laid down at Shipyard No. 190 in Leningrad on March 3, 1956 (building No. 742), launched on April 22, 1957 , on August 4, the flag of the USSR Navy was hoisted on the ship, the ship was received by the fleet on November 30, 1957, and entered into service on April 19, 1958 Soviet Navy [1] .

Design Features

The destroyer was commissioned with fairings of propeller shafts, one balancer steering wheel, a new mast, lightweight and reinforced mast with a direction finder located behind and the Zarya radar with a trapezoidal shape. During the modernization under project 56-A, the Shtag-B radio range finder was removed from the ship, the MI-110K torpedo-track detection station with a receiver in the nose of the hull (removed in 1981) was installed, the Volna-M air defense system was redesigned, the main structure was changed masts (diamond shaped). After the modernization of the anti-aircraft missile system in “Volna-P” was equipped with an additional cabin and a rack on the main mast [2] .

Service

Since April 19, 1958, as part of the 170th BEM of the Northern Fleet of the USSR Navy based on Severomorsk [1] .

May 7, 1958 transferred to the Federation Council,

June 8, 1967 - to the KChF and July 17, 1970 - to the DCBF,

from October 17 to 21, 1964 paid a visit to Trondheim (Norway),

from 10 to 15 August 1972 and from 14 to 18 June 1979 in Helsinki (Finland),

from June 21 to 26, 1974 - in Cherbourg (France),

from August 10 to August 15, 1976 - to Copenhagen (Denmark),

and from June 14 to June 19, 1978 - to Amsterdam (Holland).

from June 1 to 30, 1967, being in the zone of military operations, performed the combat mission of assisting the Syrian armed forces,

and from December 6, 1977 to January 13, 1978 - the armed forces of Angola.

April 25, 1989 by order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR destroyer "Persistent" was removed from the lists of the Navy of the USSR and disarmed.

October 1, 1989 disbanded in Liepaja.

In March 1990, he was taken to Italy for scrapping [1] .
