Vladimir Ivanovich Chistyakov was born on July 21, 1891 in the village of Beli, now the Molokovsky district of the Tver region.

In 1907, the tsarist gendarmerie was held accountable for insulting Tsar Nicholas II , after which he was under the vigilant supervision of the police.

World War I and Civil War

In August 1913, he was drafted into the ranks of the Russian Imperial Army and sent to the 148th Caspian Regiment ( St. Petersburg Military District ) as a volunteer, and then to the Ulan Regiment as a volunteer in the Life Guards .

With the outbreak of World War I, the regiment was sent to the front. On August 25, 1914, in the area of ​​the village of Budzun ( Khodel town near Ljubljana ) Chistyakov was captured, was held in a prisoner of war camp in Austria-Hungary until October 1918 , after which he was interned at home.

In October 1919 he entered the ranks of the Red Army , after which, while serving as political officer of the squadron and assistant commissar of the cavalry regiment (separate cavalry brigade, 45th Infantry Division , Southern Front ), he took part in the fighting near Odessa , and as part of the South groups of troops of the 12th army - on a campaign of 400 kilometers from the Dniester to Zhytomyr .

In November 1919, the division was redeployed to Petrograd , but was soon returned to the Southern Front, where it took part in military operations against troops under the command of A. I. Denikin on the right bank of the Dnieper , and in the area of ​​the city of Aleksandrovsk - in military operations against troops under command of N.I. Makhno .

As the commander of the squadron of the 1st cavalry regiment of a separate cavalry brigade, in the spring of 1921 Chistyakov participated in the suppression of the uprising led by A.S. Antonov in the Tambov province , in November of the same year - in military operations against armed groups under the command of Yu.O. Tyutyunnik in Ukraine .

Vladimir Ivanovich Chistyakov for military distinction was awarded two orders of the Red Banner .

Interwar

After the war ended, Chistyakov continued to serve in the 1st Cavalry Regiment (separate cavalry brigade, 45th Infantry Division) as squadron commander, assistant commander, and provisional regiment commander.

In September 1922 he was appointed to the post of squadron commander (1st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Bessarabian Cavalry Division , Ukrainian Military District ), in January 1923 - to the post of commander of the 54th Cavalry Regiment of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade of Immigrant Villagers.

In June 1924 he was sent to study at the cavalry advanced training courses for command personnel , after which from August 1925 he served as commander of the 16th cavalry regiment and commander of the 2nd cavalry brigade ( 3rd Bessarabian division ); in October 1925 he was appointed commander of the 1st Cavalry Brigade ( 9th Cavalry Division ).

In September 1926 he was sent to study for advanced training courses for commanding officers at the MV Frunze Military Academy , which he graduated in July 1927 .

Since March 1930 - the commander of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade ( 2nd Cavalry Division of the Red Cossacks ), since June 1931 - the head of the Tver Cavalry School named after Comintern, since November 1932 - head of the North Caucasian highland nationalities of the cavalry school .

In October 1933 he was sent to study at a special faculty of the Military Academy named after M.V. Frunze , after which from November 1935 he was at the disposal of the head of the 2nd department of the General Staff of the Red Army and in January 1936 was appointed to the post of commander and commissar 18th Turkmen Mountain Cavalry Division .

February 17, 1936, Vladimir Ivanovich Chistyakov was awarded the rank of brigade commander [1] .

In November 1938 he was appointed senior lecturer in the cavalry department of the MV Frunze Military Academy.

On June 4, 1940, Chistyakov was re-certified as major general and in September 1940 he was appointed to the post of deputy commander, and in March 1941 - to the post of commander of the 24th mechanized corps .

World War II

With the outbreak of the war, Vladimir Chistyakov continued to command until July 1, 1941, a corps consisting of the 26th Army ( South-Western Front ). The 24th mechanized corps took part in the border battle , operating in the Vinnitsa direction east of the city of Proskurov .

On July 1, a seriously ill major general, Vladimir Ivanovich Chistyakov, was sent to a military hospital ( Pervomaisk , Mykolaiv Oblast ), where on August 18, 1941 he died of heart failure .
