History
The village of Staronikolskoye of the Khokholsky District was founded by service people at the beginning of the second half of the 17th century. It is known that when the Seventy (1667) arose, Staronikolskoe was already and was considered a village. The data of 1676 has been preserved. It can be seen from them that Nikolskoye (the so-called village) had 35 yards. There was a chapel in which a parish priest from the village of Gremyachye served.
In 1671, from the village of Kostenki to Voronezh , undelivered bread was sent from "seventy yards" (p. Seventies ). The document says that a certain Sergei Terebunsky with comrades - residents of the village of Nikolskoye - gave guarantees for Vasily Stepanov, who was sent to a "grain reception" (this type of punishment). as you can see, the document mentions the village of Nikolskoye, as the most important and probably older. This is one thing.
Another - there were small economic relations between villages located close to each other.
According to the version, the name of the village came from the chapel and from the church later built here, which were consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. For decades, the church was the center of the culture, customs and rites of the villagers. (A powerful explosion was heard on June 26, 1982, the church was gone in the village. And it seemed to be orphaned.)
The addition “Staro” arose in the 19th century in connection with the appearance of nearby villages - Verkhnenikolsky and Nikolsky-on-Emanche .
School
There is the only school called MCOU "Staronikolskaya Secondary School", in which 142 students are studying.
