The andesitic lavas formed by the dome are located west of the Sredinny Range, near the mouth of the Shishei River. The dome and associated lava flows erupted 4,200 years ago, as a result of the activity of one of several volcanoes on the gentle slopes of the Middle Ridge during the Holocene. Nearest volcanoes: Kinenin, Gemini, Shiveluch.
