Abdul Wahid Aziz (( Arabic. عبدالواحد عزيز ) 1931, Basra - 1982) - Iraqi weightlifter , the country's only Olympic medalist (1960).

Before he began to do weightlifting in 1950, he tried his hand at football , basketball , volleyball , and swimming . In 1951 he performed at the national championship, where he took second place. In 1953 he became the silver medalist of the Pan-Arab Games in Alexandria in weight up to 60 kg. At the next Pan-Arab Games of 1957 in Beirut, he became the champion. In the same year, he won the Asian Championships in Tehran .
Abdul Wahid Aziz took part in three world weightlifting championships, having achieved the greatest success in Warsaw in 1959 , where he became a bronze medalist. At the championships of 1957 and 1961, he took fourth places.
Speaking at the Rome Olympics in 1960, he finished third in the 67.5 kg category, becoming the first and so far the only Olympic medalist in the history of Iraqi sports.
