University of Exeter

The University of Exeter ( Eng. The University of Exeter ; in the titles of graduates and doctors is usually abbreviated as Exon., From the Latin name Exoniensis ) is a university in southwestern England . Most units are located in Exeter , Devon . It is part of the elite group of universities "Russell" .

The university was founded in 1922 as a university college, received university status in 1955. To date, the university ranks 7th in the UK according to The Sunday Times University Guide and 10th according to The Complete University Guide. On the world stage, Exeter is among the top 100 universities, occupying 93rd place according to The Times World University Ranking.

The university consists of 3 campuses: Streetham, St. Luke (both in Exeter ) and Tremough in Cornwall . The Tremos campus is managed jointly with Falmouth University College ( en: University College Falmouth ) as part of the Combined University of Cornwall network ( en: Combined Universities in Cornwall , CUC).

Chancellor of the University - writer, former actress and television presenter Floella Benjamin (since 2006), vice-chancellor - Professor Steve Smith. During the leadership years of F. Benjamin and S. Smith, the status of the university increased sharply in the ratings of many British publications:
