Biography

Born January 1, 1923 in the city of Tula in the family of an employee. Russian.

He was brought up in the Valuy orphanage of the Belgorod region. He graduated from 7 classes and the school of FZU, worked as a locksmith on the Moscow District Railway.

In March 1942 he was drafted into the Red Army. In the army - from September 1942. In 1943 he became an officer, graduated from junior lieutenant courses. In the battles of World War II since 1942. He fought on the Don, Central and Belorussian fronts.

The commander of the rifle platoon of the 262nd separate rifle company, Lieutenant Nikolai Novikov, was especially distinguished when crossing the Dnieper River in the Loyovsky district of the Gomel region of Belarus. On October 13, 1944, a platoon entrusted to Lieutenant Novikov was among the first to cross the Dnieper, captured an island on the river and captured 72 enemy officers and soldiers. Lieutenant Novikov was seriously injured, but did not leave the battlefield.

Since 1944, Senior Lieutenant Novikov N. S. - retired due to disability. He lived in the village of Pervomaisky, Shchekino district, Tula region . Until 1974 he worked as a carpenter. Member of the CPSU since 1954.

He died in 1994.

Rewards
