Biography

Born in 1906 in St. Petersburg in the family of a military doctor. In 1919 he entered the drama school in the studio Gosnardoma. Since 1922 - in the detachment CHON GPU in Turkestan . In 1924 - 1925 he graduated from the 2 nd degree school in Simbirsk . In 1926 he entered the Leningrad photographic technical school.

From 1933 he worked in the state security organs. In May 1934 he became authorized by the economic department of the authorized representative office of the OGPU of the Leningrad Military District . At the beginning of World War II is the head of the Special Department of the NKVD of the 23rd Army of the Northern and Leningrad Front . In 1943 - 1944, he was the head of the 3rd Department of the SCC of the SCC of the NKO of the USSR . In 1947 - 1951 - Head of the 1st Directorate of the MGB of the USSR (foreign counterintelligence in Soviet institutions abroad), member of the Board of the MGB of the USSR ( 1950-1951 ).

On November 29 (according to other data, November 2) of 1951, he was arrested during a personnel cleansing of the apparatus of the USSR MGB in connection with the “Abakumov case”. He was accused of anti-Soviet activities, sabotage, participation in a conspiracy in the MGB. Released on March 21, 1953 , fully rehabilitated.

From April 4, 1953 - Deputy Head of the 4th Directorate of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs , from September 1 - Head of the 1st Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chelyabinsk Region . Since March 1954 - and. about. Head, from November - Head of the 2nd Department of the KGB Department for the Chelyabinsk Region.

In December 1955 he was discharged for health reasons. From January 1957 he worked as deputy director for the regime and head of the special department of the scientific research institute (Institute of Applied Geophysics - IPG) in Moscow. In the early 1970s. transferred to work as head of the First Department of the Main Directorate of the Hydrometeorological Service under the USSR Council of Ministers.

He died in Moscow in September 1987.

Awarded two Orders of the Red Banner (February 10, 1943, July 31, 1944, June 25, 1954 [1] ), Order of Kutuzov II degree (September 13, 1945), three Orders of the Patriotic War I degree (October 28, 1943 , March 25, 1945, March 11, 1985 [2] ), Order of the Red Star (July 25, 1949) [1] , medals. The sign “Honorary Worker of the Cheka-GPU (XV)” (August 25, 1937) and the sign “50 years of being in the CPSU” .
