Justification of Symbols
The flag in the language of symbols and allegories reflects the natural, historical and cultural features of the rural settlement.
The lands that make up the Kulikovo rural settlement have a rich, interesting history. Entering the principality first, then the county and now the district, they shared both the difficulties and the glory of the Dmitrov land. The territorial affiliation with the Dmitrovsky district, the continuity and community of history is reflected on the flag with stylized ermine fur and a crown - symbols of princely dignity - figures from the coat of arms of the Dmitrovsky district.
The name of the rural settlement is clearly reflected with the help of bird figures - sandpiper .
The cross on the flag of a rural settlement symbolizes one of the revered monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church. The St. Nicholas-Peshnoshsky Monastery , founded by the closest associate, co-companion and interlocutor of St. Sergius of Radonezh - the holy Monk Methodius, was rightfully considered the "second Lavra".
The monastery was founded in 1361 and throughout its history has remained a major spiritual center of Russian monasticism. Local monks participated in the construction of the Optina Desert . Pilgrims from all over the country came here to bow to the miraculous shrines - a particle of the Robe of the Lord, the miraculous icon of St. John the Baptist by the work of the Monk Andrei Rublev , the image of the Mother of God “Before Christmas and the Nativity of the Virgin” were preserved here.
Blue color symbolically reflects the waterways of the settlement - the Moscow Canal , the Yakhroma River and the Sister .
Blue color is a symbol of honor, nobility, spirituality, high aspirations.
White color ( silver ) is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and mutual understanding.
