He graduated from the Kiev Infantry School and the Military Institute of Foreign Languages , served as a translator in Germany, worked as a teacher in the schools of Abakan, Beryozovka Dalnaya and Krasnoturansk.
After graduating from the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages, he taught German at the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical Institute. Repeatedly traveled with his students on Sayan expeditions.
He is the author of books on the nature of Siberia: “Across the Western Sayan”, “Little Journeys Around the Big City”, “Sayan Summer”, “Kizir - Sayan River ...” and others. In addition, Velichko M.F. was the author of the scripts for the documentaries "Waterfalls Sayan", "Stremnina", "Ergaki".
