He spent a significant part of his professional career in Spain, where he played 140 matches in four clubs, in which he scored 23 goals, as well as in France, where he scored 56 goals in 145 games as part of Monaco and PSG.

Nene won the French Championship in 2013 with PSG, and was recognized as the best foreign league player in 2010. He also spent three months in England at the West Ham United club.

Career start

Born in Jundiai (São Paulo State), he began to play professionally at the age of 19.

Monaco

He made his debut for Monaco on August 29, 2007 in the 6th round match of the French championship against Lille , replacing him in the 63rd minute instead of Frederic Picion, who scored a goal [1] . In the next round, in a match with Bordeaux , he came on as a substitute in the 68th minute and scored a goal in the 90th, but Monaco lost 1: 2 [2] . In total, in the 2007/08 season, he scored 5 goals.

In the 2009/10 season, Nene became the club's top scorer in the French championship with 14 goals, three of which were scored from the penalty spot; he finished seventh in the dispute of the top scorers of the championship.

Espanyol

The next season 2008/09 Nene spent on loan at the Spanish Espanyol , for which he spent 35 matches and scored four goals, two of which were from the penalty spot.

PSG

In the 2011/12 season, he became PSG's top scorer. Playing an attacking midfielder, Nene scored 21 goals in 35 matches. He shared with Olivier Giraud the first place in the dispute of the scorers of the French championship.

Fluminense

July 16, 2019 transferred to the Brazilian Fluminense as a free agent .
