Historical data
The building of the main building of the current university is the former estate of N. A. Demidov (grandson of the famous industrialist and associate of Peter I). After the fire and the devastation of 1812, it was sold. Since 1825, it housed the Elizabethan School (later the institute), which was intended to educate the daughters of poor noblemen, officials, clergy, and merchants. The institute was named in honor of Empress Elizaveta Alekseevna and was located in the estate, the owners of which in different years of the 18th century were Prince F. Yu. Romodanovsky , Count M. G. Golovkin .
Since the middle of the 18th century, under N. A. Demidov, the complex of buildings has expanded. [2] In the second half of the 19th century , a church appeared on the territory.
After 1917, the Elizabethan Institute was abolished and the institution functions as the Moscow Regional Pedagogical College named after Profintern .
Since 1931, the technical school has been transformed into the Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute, whose main task is to provide schools in the Moscow Region with highly qualified teaching staff. [3]
From 1957 to 1991, the Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute bears the name of N.K. Krupskaya .
In 1991 MOPI them. N.K. Krupskaya is transformed into Moscow Pedagogical University (MPU), and in 2002 the Government of the Moscow Region decided to give this educational institution the status of a classical educational institution and rename it to Moscow State Regional University.
