Williams Street Records LLC is an independent record company based in Atlanta . Initially, it was a joint venture of Williams Street Studios (a division of Turner Broadcasting System , later acquired by Time Warner ) and Warner Music Group (a former record company Time Warner), and distribution was through the Alternative Distribution Alliance . Under this label quite original musical works were released, some of which belonged to the show of the Adult Swim channel. The founder of the label was Jason Demarco.

In February 2007 (that is, the same year the label was founded), Williams Street and Adult Swim teamed up with independent hip-hop label Definitive Jux to produce an animated video for an El-P song called Flyentology (from the English "Poetology") and the release of the collection Definitive Swim , posted for free download and containing the songs of most of the label's performers.
